Carlos Vasquez is a native of San Diego. Carlos has extensive leadership experience in areas of business, community planning and development.
He is the owner of multiple family owned businesses. He grew up in Logan Heights and in the 80’s his family moved to the South Bay border region where he has worked and managed his businesses ever since. Carlos received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University and is licensed by the State of California as an insurance agent.
After graduating from SDSU Carlos began civic volunteering beginning with the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce and leading to serving as president of the San Ysidro Business Association for over 12 years. He has had the privilege of serving on various boards in San Diego (Qualcomm Stadium Advisory Board, Southeastern Economic Development Corporation and now Civic San Diego Board).
Carlos was also a substitute teacher in San Ysidro for a few years. His passion for public services lies in the fact that he recognizes the need in many under-served communities and has a commitment in doing all he can to improve them.
Carlos is currently President of the Board of the Diamond Business Association in southeast San Diego and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Civic San Diego since 2012.
